Dropped my BangleJS 2 and the button no longer works, anything I can do?

As per the title, I unfortunately dropped my poor watch. I'm guessing it landed on the button, or something, since it now has a spongy feel and no responsiveness at all. Ironically similar to the fate of my first bangleJS, though I didn't break that one myself.

I'm not skilled enough with a heat gun to pull it apart (much less put it back together) and see if the button is broken or just jolted loose, so is there any chance I'm able to send it back for repair? I'm definitely out of warranty, since this was already a replacement watch... So I don't mind how much it'd cost, just want to know if it's an option since it'd be a shame for it to just be thrown away.

Maybe after opening it you could reposition again the button.
If it is broken, I don't know if Gordon plans to sell the button assembly.

I'd imagine it is unlikely that it landed right on the button, but maybe it landed on its front and the button PCB came loose. It might actually be that banging it on its back a bit where the button is would reposition the button PCB?

But otherwise I can't really offer a repair service - it's just not worth my time doing it. As I've mentioned on other posts if it's broken I'm very happy to offer a big discount on a new one though.

It's possible that someone local to you on the forum might be willing to take a look at fixing it? Maybe even a high street phone repair shop?

@adjtm thanks for the info, and sorry for the late reply. Ironically, I've got a comment on that first one, since my first unit did have that defect, but this definitely feels different and is completely unresponsive.

@Gordon yeah, I was more speculating on that one, but it definitely took a rough fall (despite that, the button was the only notable issue even the screen was fine). Btw if we do get another revision of the 2 or a 3, a more idiot (read, me) proof button would be high up there.
I also tried some percussive maintenance already, as I'd thought the same thing, but it didn't do anything, might be worth noting I don't hear any noticeable noise if I rattle it?

I'm just here to say that I really love how this community works! Awesome...

Maybe offer it at a cheap 2nd hand / broken price. But the button is fairly key to using the watch.

In terms of the spare - maybe someone on the forum might be interested? It would make sense to send it to them directly if so - someone may be more willing to have a go at loosening the display and fixing the button as a bit of a project :)

And yes, for a next version I'd love to have better buttons. to be honest, even Bangle.js 1 had issues and these tiny little holes and rubber o-rings just don't seem great for reliability or water sealing. I'd much rather have buttons soldered on the watch PCB and rubber over-moulded buttons that were 100% sealed. It'd be chunkier but a lot safer.

@HughB I would've, but as you say the button is pretty important, so it'd be quite a hard sell given all the labour... Buuut someone has DM'd me and I'll look to send it their way to take a chance at it. Whatever comes of that is infinitely better than just turning it to e-waste.

Tbh I wear a Pebble Time Steel whenever I'm not wearing a BangleJS (probably got it on as you read this haha), and I imagine given the audience you've got here, that many of them also loved/wore an iteration of that watch too. So, while I don't speak on behalf of everyone, I'd say as long as it's reliable and well put together, a bulkier watch can totally be worth it.

I have a similar situation, but without dropping it or so, just normal use. After two years of daily use, the button did a strange click and stopped working, i can still use it via bluetooth, but thats clearly not a user device anymore and limits quite a bit the usability. I've seen a video in youtube disassembling it and I could try to fix it for myself, but i'm afraid of breaking the screen. I would love to know if it's possible to send the device to be fixed. Also, if there are plans for a new model maybe using screws and making it water resistant like the casios would be awesome, even if that implies removing some features like the barometer.

Argh, sorry to hear that - I'm afraid I can't really offer a repair service - it'd just be too expensive (especially with international postage) to make it worthwhile. As I've said elsewhere I'm happy to offer owners of an old one that broke a 50% discount on a brand new one though - let me know if that's what you want.

Right now I'm not planning on a new Bangle for at least another year, but there's a forum thread for Bangle.js 3 requests, and having an unscrewable back is something that's been requested and that I would love to add. It's just doing it in a way that doesn't make the watch too chunky
