Actually yes, from what you say it sounds like a faulty battery. I could post you out a new one if you're willing to send the old one back.
If you're ok with this, it'd be easier if you could remove the watch straps as per https://www.espruino.com/Bangle.js+Disassembly and shove it in a jiffy bag?
Sending as a 'large letter' (<25mm thick) is just way cheaper than trying to post the whole box :)
I'm not 100% sure of the range. I think realistically if you don't see
Bangleadvertised then it's probably not working.
