I've been using the ESP8266 version 0.40 on some things recently, and it seems to work great -you just need to use the
ESP8266WiFi_0v25module (the default now).If you do encounter any problems, please let us know rather than downgrading. It seems most modules come pre-installed with 0.40 now, so I really want to make sure it does work faultlessly.
