Gets my vote as long as the splitting up is done by a script and we all dont have to convert our own apps etc.

Getting rid of the merge clash will be a good thing. Also will it make the App Loader more robust as one bad metadata.json wont break the whole App Loader - you will just get a ? on the bad app ?

ad 1: I did the splitting (semi-automatically) and it will be in the merge, so you won't have to do the converting.

ad 2: Sadly no. But the bin/sanitycheck.js will give an error message pointing to which metadata.json is broken.
