The new ones I have have the hole too. I hope they've done something about waterproofing!
The software they ship with definitely needs some work. Even when 'off' they are advertising with Bluetooth, so as a result it's a bit tricky trying to use Bluetooth right now (with 100
SMA Q3entries every time I try to connect with the Web IDE!).
