Espruino is a JavaScript interpreter for low-power Microcontrollers. This site is both a support community for Espruino and a place to share what you are working on.

As @JumJum said - try that option out.
The IDE should detect that it's not talking to a board with the newer firmware and should throttle anyway, but it may be there's a bug there.
