Espruino is a JavaScript interpreter for low-power Microcontrollers. This site is both a support community for Espruino and a place to share what you are working on.

Great! That sounds a lot like it'd be the issue. You could just copy the contents of http://www.espruino.com/modules/ble_hid_keyboard.js into the IDE for now to test with.
