Wow, thanks for posting that up! The disk activity monitor looks great!
It's a really nice effect with the slow and then sometimes really fast movement - when I get a spare moment I'll have to try and do something like that for the front of my PC!

Hi Thanks!
I didn't think it was going to work as well as it did, I was expecting to have to control the animation speed through an interval timer and just turn it on and off after some time out of no activity but the effect worked amazingly well when it was driven direct!!
A recent project I've been working on a project that involves using a Gizmo2 single board computer to create a retro games console, the project covers lots of different subjects from working with Linux, using emulators, building a case and most importantly for this forum, creating some support circuitry for the console to enable using an LCD, providing some visual feedback etc..
In the blog posts and videos linked below, I used the Espruino to take disk activity signals from the Gizmo2 board and control an i/o expander which then lights LED's up in sequence patterns. I'll be using the Espruino to control an LCD too.
The first implementation

The actual light bar:

I have lots of projects involving the Espruino coming up, I can't wait to share them!!
