Is a v3 still an option for the future? I'm just asking because my BangleJS2 (I love it) is getting somehow old. Not in the meaning of old hardware, but simply it becomes worn out and I'm now in the situation of thinking about a new watch. Not tomorrow, but this year. But I don't find a better fit for me than an open watch. BangleJS is sold out at Espruino dealers here in Germany so this is also not an option.

So I'm affected now, too :-(
I have a kickstarter Bangle and I covered the middle pins with arcylic varnish. However the charger contacts seemed to puncture the varnish and the watch is in a loading-not loading-loading cycle - most time not loading anymore. The strange thing is that the only obviously corroded pin is the middle left one. The others seem to be ok. Any idea on how to get it back to work again?
Edit: vaRnish of course, vanish would be also nice :-)

I encountered a strange thing: Gadgetbride has been working very well with all my apps. With the Banglebridge it does also work, but not for Aquamail. It is not even listed as an app in the notification debug menu. Anyone any idea? Unfortuneatly I cannot compare it with the latest original Gadgetbridge version.

Is there a chance that you mean "connect" instead of "pair"? Do you have paired the watch with Ubuntu? If so, this may cause this problem - unpair it and connect only via your browser. I had in the past the problem that unpairing did not work in Kubuntu (which is very similar) in the GUI. I removed the watch via config file.

V1 was clearly a hacker's device. If you see V2 also as a hacker's device it's perfect as it is. If you see it as a smartwatch it can be improved. I personally think it's perfect for hacking and it's perfect as it is. I like the simple technology - otherwise I would buy an Apple watch. BTW: More buttons mean more buttons that may stop working ... :-)

Have you tried this: https://www.espruino.com/Quick+Start+BLE#with-web-bluetooth ?
On some OS additional work is needed. -

Writing Code in Bangle IDE (or VSCode)
Upload to Bangle or emulator.
repeat. When finished: commit to repo, push.
Ah forgot: For testing notifications, I switch the BT connection from PC to phone for the test OR simulate the message in the code (from doc):
GB({"t":"notify","id":1592721712,"src":"WhatsApp","title":"Sample Group: Sam","body":"This is a test WhatsApp message"})

Does anyone actually care about the barometer?
It's nice to have, but in general as with all barometers the readings are kind of useless because you need either altitude fixed or air pressure fixed to calc altitude. So real world use cases are rare. This is not a Bangle issue, but a basic problem. I like the touch screen: On my watch I have to use the button only for restart.
But in general: For me Bangle 2 is perfect as it is. I really appreciate your work on v1 and v2.
If I want a perfectly designed watch I would buy an Apple Watch. Limitations give interesting hacking problems. If you ever plan to make v3 I think you have to decide whether to make a hacker or an end user product. V2 is now somehow in between. -

The code question and all changes to the standard pattern were the desperate attempt to get rid of the infinite buzzing bug, which turned out to be a firmware problem which you fixed right now. I'm using the standard pattern again since it has become clear that it is a bug in the firmware. btw: ALL hard to track bugs I reported so far turned out to be bugs in the end.

Hi Gordon,
thank you for your reply. That is the information i was looking for. Especially that BangleJS v2 will be continued for the next time. So I consider to buy another one.
