That's what I was thinking about initially as well. But yeah, you are flooding the watch essentially. That's a downside.
Sounds great and well thoughtout already, @grandrew ! <3

Noticed this morning I had uninstalled the health app it seems lol
reinstalled it then. But:I had an activity of 10 hours yesterday as well. From morning up until the time it synced again
The pebble watchface seems to show steps from another source or something, that's what I was refering to. Right now it's working fine.

Hey there,
I tried to search for the issue, with no success, so sorry, if this was answered already.
Today I lost connection from watch to phone and I guess this - or something else, idk - caused an async of my steps. The watch is at 6226 steps right now. GadgetBridge on the other hand is at ~ 3400. Even with forced sync I can't get it up to the 6226, instead it's stuck at "syncing activity" forever.
Any idea what caused this? Could it be the disconnect? Imho the watch and app are set to sync constantly.

To be honest I'm impressed by the amount of customization in Gadget Bridge. There's even switch from white to black list and filtering words as you mentioned. Did not check this part of settings ind Gadget Bridge because I thought this is a device configuration and not globally for full Gadget Bridge.
Funnily enough my first intention was to do this on the watch, in the messages app, as you have already started, as well. To be quite honest: right now I'm not at all fluent in JS. I can read it and work with it but I cannot help much I guess. Need to check your edition anyway, though.
But why not push it to github as a fork already? -

For blocking notifications on Android with Gadgetbridge, you can do Settings -> Notification Settings -> Applications List
This seems to not be the case. Notification settings only show "text as bitmaps", "size of text-bitmaps" and "rename special chars" or similar in English.
Am I in the wrong spot?
As for music: No, I meant the phone's song recognition, it's triggering a notification (was not aware of until now haha) and is displayed on the watch. But I can kill it with above solution, if I get where it is, ha!
Thanks for the quick response :) Glad all this seems to be handled already. Any idea/solution about the sleep time frame as well?
edit. aah, found it. It's a global setting for Gadget Bridge.

I'm at around 70 hours so far after the initial charge (with 25% left) and a lot of tinkering because it's new. I guess I have too much set to active - Always on display, GPS via Phone, HRM @ 3min (had it at continous for some hours). I'd like to get it as far to the 40 days as possible. I guess a week is possible and that's my goal. You guys are crushing this dream haha

Hey there,
got my Bangle on Saturday and am loving it so far. Here's a picture to show where I'm coming from :D
I am printing a charging cradle right now as well. The one thing I miss, though, is some kind of whitelisting for notifications/messages to get trough to the watch.
On the one hand I'd like to prevent some notifications from coming through (Song detection for example). On the other hand I'd like to prevent any notification from coming through in a set period of time - like 22:00-08:00. I could not find options or apps for both of this so far. Am I missing something?
I think about trying to get this in for me, not quite sure if this should be handled on gadgetbridge (I think not) or the watch. Opinions?
Hey,
I'm still loving my Bangle but one thing that bothers me all the time is the "wrong" message handling for the "Now Playing" song recognition on my pixel phone.
I looked through the files and am thinking about trying some thing to change it but I can't help myself to be stuck on deciding where to add it properly lol.
Maps and Music playbay hook into the messagegui before the "showmessage" is fired. And they even get another notify signal all together with a custom id.
The problem with the track recognition via now playing is, its message is not as unique as we'd need I guess. They look like this:
As you can see they are even translated already and nothing is standardized. Even the src is garbage for using it properly because this is used by other google services most likely.
So, perhaps Gordon has a clever idea to get this implemented, so the displaying of the message is more useful visually.
Imho the title should be the artist, the body should be the track title and we are golden :)
sounded like an easy task at first "if src=nowplaying { change title; change body }
thoughts and ideas?
