hi,
I believe mechanical parts will fail, so the most vulnerable thing on the bangle2 would be the button.
for clock -> launcher, i got the "pattern launcher",
and when i am inside an app, i use "swip back to clock"/"close button" etc to get back to clock.however, after install a new app,
the watch ask me to "hold button to reload", in this step any software way to proceed beyond it?i have read that a failed button almost = failed watch, i want to prevent it at any cost.
thank you.

this one:
https://github.com/enaon/eucWatch
line: Espruino Installation on P8 - P22A/B/C/D/B1/C1 - pinetime how-toi followed thru for my p8b-mirror,
although the screen is mirrored, i could connect to it and install apps from the jeffmer app store. thxps, someone on TG suggested me to install some boot loader, claim i could switch back to wasp os; but after i flashed micropython.zip, the p8b-mir is completely bricked. i am buying those SWD tools and they are only on the way.
thx -
guys, you people so kind to port them to many boards,
- but howcome you people didn't more officially port to pinetime?
pinetime is more popular so influence more people, also if someone buy thru
pinetime, so far there is NO variant. so that people wont end up with a p8b-mirror which is troublsome like me.
2.
i read that fanoush did have a p8 port and seems eucwatch/atcwatch did mentioned could install on pinetime, but for such a large user base i will suggest make it more clear.3.
yeah, i am well aware that pinetime = p8+/- something.thank you.
for me, previously i wish to have espruino run on pinetime, to save money.
but after i found bangle v2 have always on display, i have ordered a bangle v2, and wish to have espruino run on pinetime/p8 as a spare for me.
i myself will try to instal you ppl's port on p8b-mirror later. thx

hi,
Gordon have the same thinking like me that indeed I could get on a train, and use DaFit to brick every other's DaFit smart watches if I wish. There is no security over there. Or even flash a malicious firmware silently?
I believe espruino on BJv2 wont be encrypted as full-disk-encryption, as in later e.g. ver 9 of android?
thus if I wanna develop something sensitive, like a cipher or password manager, the program it self should be zero-knowledge, until the user feed some keys into it? e.g. a pattern, or a PIN etc. and afterwards, should remove any temp files if necessary?
thanks.

hi,
I use chatgpt plus thru Chrome browser,
there is a chrome plugin called "save chatgpt" which allow downloading the chats.I have saved that 3 days' chat and uploaded at the github,
if you are interested, you could read the day-xxx.md files.
They can be viewed inside github directly.
e.g. https://github.com/ccchan234/bangle-js-mw-timing/blob/main/day1.mdHope that later you will find it useful.
Thank you.

hi,
I have a thinking like IBM, such that i want my purchase to have 2 sources of availability -- intel/AMD.
Suppose I am going to obtain a bangle.js v2, and can use the official app loader, and i am going to write some app myself.
I would like to have a backup using unofficial ports, like P8, Magic3 etc
I have tested /w P8b before, and visited jeffmer's https://jeffmer.github.io/WatchApps/, for P8 or Magic3, there are only about 28-38 apps available (but BJ v2 emulator can see about 4xx for BJ v2).
And those 28-38 apps are mostly system apps, not applications, mostlyIF those 380 apps are exclusively to PAID users, I believe it is fair. However from discussion of Gordon, Fanoush and Jeffmer, it seems Gordon would like to see those 380 apps also run on unofficial ports, they discuss a file jswrap_bangle.c at https://forum.espruino.com/comments/16218562/
So, is it true that this file is the hurdle to allow unofficial ports to use the 380 apps?SUPPOSE that file is troublesome, no one wants to touch it. Fine.
However i could dnld those 380 apps' sources from github, and i also got my own app's source code.
A. for my own code, is it if i have not used hardware-specific coding, I should be able to run them on most if not all unofficial ports?
B. for those 380 apps, is it the same? with reasonable porting(exclude those that need the above file), i could run them on unofficial ports?
Thank you.

hi, anyone any idea how to control the phone from the watch?
what i think is, the phone have much more sensors, so it is the base.
it will sit in my chest's pocket, with either front or rear camera facing my front.
the mics, +/- headphones will be ON, together with wifi, bluetooth, GPS etc.Since i am an AI guy,
i would like to see the watch either- act as a small window to the android's screen, and allow you to use the watch's screen as touchpad and click (VNC?)
OR
- press a virtual button on watch and call up some apps on the android, esp press a virtual button and call up openai.app or the web version, together with voice input and speaker/headphone output. then i'll have a servant 24x7 for me.
thank you.

hi,
to join the promotion/discount kindly offered by @Gordon,
i wrote up my project here https://hackaday.io/project/193044-microwave-time-convertor-for-banglejs-v2it is a good match.
it's really not good to bring the "waterproof" android phone into the kitchen,
and i am a bio lab professional, i have to wash the wrist and even up to the mid radius bone. So even for my cheaper foss watch now, i wear on it my chest.let's see how a layman with 0 knowledge could use gpt4 to help surive.

hi, thx to your video this is the way i opened my P8, instead of using atc1411's brute force.
however, as i dont have a professional heater,i put my P8 on a metal disc, then float it on fresh boiled water.
as you mentioned you want the heater to be <100 oC, around 90 oC,
that's almost exactly to the setup i mentioned.for about 5mins warm up, i then easily disassemble my P8.*
btw, since i may further disassemble other watches and glue back,
could you provide some info on how to glue it back?
what is the glue used? can i buy individually?
i saw your discussion else, thanks
https://forum.espruino.com/comments/17053109/thank you.
*ps, my P8 is almost bricked so i haven't tested if this temp will ruin the LCD.
my SWD tools haven't come back so my P8 is still a brick. -
btw, will you guys prefer 1 way GPS instead of China's 2-way BeiDou (The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS))?
it is told that with GPS, you can only receive signal from the sats, to calculate your location.
with BDS, you can send text back, but with that, if there is spyware, it's worrysome.
the OS espruino is foss i know, but hardware-wise i dont know what we can control.
and i am not sure if BDS provide a read-only framework and is it trust-able.

hi,
may i ask,
why everyone use the slim st link v2 clone instead of the bulky original St link/clone or the jlink-clone?everyone use this:
original st link v2, or the clone:
jlink OB clone:
i am blank newbie, thanks
although pinetime now come with firmware unlocked, i would like to keep the ability to do so. I read from atc1411's utube that i can flash the slim st link v2 clone as a DAP? to unlock the firmware if needed? thanks

hi,
i read the refence you mentioned:https://www.espruino.com/Bangle.js+Button+Reset
it seems to me that i can disable the (press button 1.5s to reload app) and (press button 10s to reboot the watch).
but what i concern is "adding a new app now it ask me to press button to reload app".
may i ask:
if i disable the (press button 1.5s to reload app i.e. Bangle.setOptions({btnLoadTimeout:0});), will the app loader still ask me to press the button for 1.5s or will it directly pass thru it?
or i have to wish that later version of app loader will have an option to let people choose "reload automatically"?
thanks.
