Hi @all,
I don't know whether this thread could be useful for others but I think a list of working Bluetooth devices will be helpful for newbies.Although Gordon mentions some working devices at http://www.espruino.com/Quick+Start+BLE#banglejs here are my experiences:
I own an ACER E5-771 series laptop which has a builtin Intel bluetooth device.
Using openSUSE Leap 15.1 a lsusb gives the following output: ID 8087:07dc Intel Corp.
This one works perfectly.Furthermore I ordered an external Bluetooth device from Amazon Germany. Search for "Yizhet USB nano Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter".
This one also works perfect with Debian Buster.Just to clarify: The devices work well in Espruino Web IDE.
The OS'ses I used are only examples, I think they will work with other Linux'es, too
Regards Helge
Hi Gordon,
I think you are right to mention USB devices don't work.
Maybe renaming this thread?
OK, but my ACER is an older one (around 5 years) and so I think it's noticeable that the built in Intel chip works.
