Can't find bangle.js 2 bluetooth

Hello everyone! Very exited to be here!

I just received a new bangle.js 2 but I can't find it neither with the Connect button at https://banglejs.com/apps/ or using Gadgetbridge app.
My phone is S21 and I was using Chrome (bluetooth permissions allowed).
I also tried with Chrome in a new laptop.
And also before and after doing a factory reset on the bangle. And in the recovery menu.

Any ideas of what to try next?

Hi! Sorry you're having issues finding it. Had you previously paired it with any one of your devices using their OSes Bluetooth menus? If so you'll need to unpair.

What colour is the Bluetooth icon in the top right of the watch? If Blue that might show if it thinks there is a connection already - maybe some device is trying to auto-connect to it.

Another thing to try, just to really try and narrow it down, is to install the 'DFU' app on your phone, and reboot the Bangle into DFU mode. Info at https://www.espruino.com/Firmware+Update#android-ios-app

No need to actually flash a new firmware, but if the app can connect then you can be sure Bluetooth is Ok and it's some other issue you're having

Thank you for your fast and detailled response.

I never paired with another device, it was my first try with the new watch. The top right icon is clear, not blue.

I tried the android app you mentioned with the watch in dfu, but no chance either. (I uploaded some random zip to the app instead of a firmware, it doesn't matter, right?).

As long as you don't upload a firmware for a different device you should be good - it'd fail before it got to the point of writing anything :)

Ok, that doesn't sound promising at all. It's an odd one as we test Bluetooth as part of the test process - the code for the watchface doesn't get written into the watch unless it responds on bluetooth, so I can only assume that it broke during the journey to you.

I'll drop you an email to arrange a replacement.
