How to get weather?

  • So the default way seems to be to use the weather notification app from f-droid, no problem -- except it simply doesn't work, it always throws a 401: invalid api key error. I've tested my api key and it works, its this app that's the problem. I even tried generating a new api key, but always 401.

So I tried owmweather, but it fails with a java error -- which I was pretty sure was going to happen after reading elsewhere here.

So.. how is everyone getting this to work?

  • Not the answer to you question but
I managed to have weather working on the "advanced casio clock" with the API key of openweathermap.org and syncing from its own web app.

The syncing method is not ideal, but it can be re-coded ;)

  • I don't see the original casio, just advcasio.

It looks like it's working, but data put into the webapp doesn't do anything on the watch. It doesn't throw an error at least, lol

Edit: oh, two S's. I'll try later, cheers
Edit2: I had a thought, and tried the advcasio config software through a regular browser instead of gadgetbridge and it worked. So, solved I guess lol. Although having normal weather access for other watch faces would be nice eventually.
