Espruino isn't recognized by the IDE

  • When I hold the board on the side where the micro USB plugs in, I feel heat, but the board itself doesn't seem to be turning on or at least isn't recognized by the computer... not sure what to do...

  • I guess it's most likely the voltage regulator that's producing the heat.
    How do you power it?
Has something happened to it? F.ex if you accidentally shorted something when putting it down on a conductive surface, or other things of that nature?

  • I'm powering it through my computer... I'm not sure if anything happened to it, I fried an external transistor earlier, but I tried using Espruino after that and it was working...

  • The board should not be getting warm

  • Perhaps it's having a temporary issue? Any ideas of what it could be?

  • Any ideas what's getting warm? There's a green polyfuse on the board that cuts out at around 1A. If it's that then there might be a short somewhere between GND and power wires - have you soldered anything to it?
