Hi,
Are you the developer of Smartibot, or are you using their device? If you have any issues with their IDE please contact them - Espruino is open so other companies can obviously just copy everything and rebrand it, but if they do that then they should support their own users.
For Espruino itself there's a getting started page at http://www.espruino.com/Quick+Start+BLE#Ârequirements that suggests some BLE dongles that work just fine. I personally develop everything on Linux so I know it works fine.
