Activating Puck from Android

Posted on
  • Hello.
I want to use the puck as a key finder. I managed to connect a buzzer to it and make it buzz a bit, and light the LEDs. Is there a way to make it do these things from Android either from a terminal or an app of sorts ?

  • Yes, absolutely!

Probably the easiest option is to use a Web Bluetooth website - there's some info on it here: http://www.espruino.com/Puck.js+Web+Bluetooth

There's an example of a fullscreen icon there, and you can just open it in chrome and then choose the 'add to desktop' option inside Chrome's menu.

Otherwise you could write your own app using Bluetooth LE and the Android development SDK (which could be a bit of a steep learning curve if you haven't done anything already), or could use DroidScript - there's a post on that here: http://forum.espruino.com/conversations/297507/

    Hope that helps!

  • That worked ! And it was really easy to set up.
Thank you for the help :D
